Davidsmeyer to seek re-election as 100th District State Rep.

JACKSONVILLE, IL – State Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer (R-Jacksonville) has announced that he is running for re-election as State Representative for the 100th House District.

“Today, I am announcing my intent to continue to fight for the people of west central Illinois as your State Representative. After talking with friends and constituents, I have been encouraged by the number of people asking me to continue to serve. As your voice in Springfield, I am working hard to bring fiscal responsibility and conservative principles back to Illinois,” said Rep. Davidsmeyer.

As our State Representative, C.D. Davidsmeyer opposed wasteful spending and repeatedly voted against the Democrats’ unbalanced budgets. He authored legislation to cut politicians’ pay if Illinois’ bills are not paid and voted to block legislative pay raises.

“Despite the recently-passed state budget, Illinois still has nearly $15 billion in unpaid bills. We’ve got to do more to cut spending and pay our bills on time. We need to protect social services for our most vulnerable citizens. To help balance the budget, I support meaningful welfare reforms, including putting a stop to taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal immigrants,” said Davidsmeyer.

As a strong supporter of our Second Amendment rights, C.D. Davidsmeyer sponsored and helped pass the Firearm Concealed Carry Act (P.A. 98-063), making Illinois the final state to allow Concealed Carry for its citizens.

“I fought to protect the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens in Illinois, by passing Concealed Carry for responsible gun owners. I worked to ensure that veterans received credit for their weapons training. My office has assisted hundreds of constituents with their Concealed Carry License and FOID Card applications,” added Davidsmeyer.

C.D. Davidsmeyer is pro-life and pro-family values. He opposes the Chicago politicians’ left-wing agenda and earlier this year, Davidsmeyer voted against liberal legislation that would provide taxpayer-funded abortions on demand.

Representative Davidsmeyer also recognized the accomplishments of his legislative office in his re-election statement.

“On a daily basis, we are able to help constituents throughout the nine counties that I serve. My legislative office does a great job with constituent services and I appreciate my staff’s hard work on behalf of the people of the 100th District,” Davidsmeyer said.

C.D. Davidsmeyer has served the 100th House District since December of 2012, following the retirement of Rep. Jim Watson from the IL General Assembly. He has since been re-elected twice.

“I am running for re-election to continue the hard work of balancing the state budget, paying our bills, protecting our values and helping to create good-paying jobs for our working families,” Davidsmeyer said. “It is my honor to serve as your State Representative and I am asking for your continued support in 2018.”

C.D. Davidsmeyer was born and raised in Jacksonville, graduating from Jacksonville High School and Miami University of Ohio. He served on the Jacksonville City Council from 2008-2012. A small businessman, Davidsmeyer is Vice President of IRC, Inc. He is married to Kristen, a nurse, and they have two sons, Lennox and Pax.
