    CD,

I am writing about the good work that you are doing in Springfield. Please keep up the work in cutting government waste and spending. Illinois can not continue as it has in the past.

Government does not need to be my mother. I have one.

I would also like to bring to your attention that the when picking up a prescription, even if you have been taking the drug for months or years, you are required to speak to the pharmacist now. That often means waiting in line TWICE. At Walmart they tell me that this is due to a new State law. At my age every second is precious and I feel that this is a waste of my time and the Pharmacists, which drives up the already high cost of drugs.

Thank you again for your good work, I am,

    Sincerely yours,

    Jack Kinsell

I do not support proposed House Bill HB1469 and hope you do not as well. We will continue to have these shootings until the real issues are addressed: mental health, current gun laws being enforced, upbringing and the elimination of Sanctuary Cities.

I was quite surprised by the recent over-sized campaign postcard that was mailed to residents in Jacksonville. The photograph on the front that depicts immigrants scaling a wall is clearly intended to de-humanize those portrayed. Please resist the temptation to model your campaign efforts after the rhetoric of Trump, which has lowered the standards of the Republican party perhaps beyond repair. During the Republican primaries Trump’s campaign was a punchline among most Republicans but then after he won the nomination, he was gradually embraced by politicians who assessed that doing so might be politically expedient for their re-election efforts in the short-term, even though they are fully aware that he acts more like a spoiled 10-year old than the President of the United States. Please be a Republican of whom constituents can be proud, one who appeals to the decency within people rather than one who stoops down to use divisive rhetoric because you feel that it might play well with a passionate subgroup of your constituents. Opinions on immigration policy can be articulated without using the eye-catching photograph with a text overlay that equates those human beings who are depicted to mere dollars and cents.

Thanks again for support of the 2nd amendment. Something must be done to better protect our kids in school. I suggest we have concealed carry, by anonymous educators , in all our schools. Give them training by the state police Keep it as anonymous as possible. Post a sign on all entrances that there are “Trained and armed marksmen in the Building!” I believe the sign itself would be a deterrent. It would be less of a burden on taxpayers than armed guards or surveillance systems.

Please oppose HB 5213. Athletic Trainers in the State of Illinois provide a valuable service to schools, athletes, parents and citizens of Illinois by providing knowledge of injuries, rehabilitation of those injuries and preventive measures so injuries hopefully will not return. Athletic Trainers are employed in many settings in Illinois such as professional sports, colleges/universities, high schools, clinics/hospitals, corporate/industrial settings and also the performing arts. Again, I would appreciate if you would oppose HB 5213, filed by State Representative Tom Demmer, to ensure that Athletic Trainers can continue to be licensed by the State of Illinois and continue to provide compassionate care for all citizens of Illinois who are engaged in physical activity, whether it be organized sports/activities, recreational sports or even industrial settings. Thank you for your time and efforts. Kris Schwiderski, ATC/L
