Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer was born and raised in Jacksonville, Illinois where he attended Salem Lutheran School and graduated from Jacksonville High School. He went on to earn his BA in Political Science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Following his graduation, Representative Davidsmeyer moved to Washington, DC and worked as a Legislative Assistant to Congressman Shimkus.
C.D. returned to his hometown of Jacksonville in 2006 to become Operations Manager of IRC, Inc., a subsidiary of Illinois Road Contractors, Inc. In 2009, he became Vice President of IRC where he continued all responsibilities of business operations and added finance and budgeting responsibilities.
In 2008, Representative Davidsmeyer joined the Jacksonville City Council where he chaired the Public Protection Committee until becoming Chairman of the Finance Committee, representing the City Council in the ins and outs of the budgeting process.
C.D. has been very involved in the Jacksonville community, learning the value of community service at a young age through involvement in scouting. Having spent many years of fun times and hard-work in scouting, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1993.
Upon his return to Jacksonville in 2008, he didn’t waste any time and got involved joining the Jacksonville Library Board. He also served on the Jacksonville Chamber Executive Board, chairing the Young Professional Network and most recently the Government Division. C.D. also served as Treasurer of the Governor Duncan Association, board member of the Jacksonville Rotary Club, Co-Chair of the Jacksonville Promise.
Representative Davidsmeyer was honored to be included in the Jacksonville Journal Courier’s “20 Under 40” inaugural year in 2010. C.D. is a life member of the Jacksonville Art Association and a life member of the National Eagle Scout Association.
Most importantly, C.D. is joined by his wife Kristen, a Registered Nurse, and their two boys, Lennox (4) and Pax (1).
